I don't know if it works that way for everybody, but I very often associate food with places, as in, when I visit a city, I have a list of "must hit" food things in mind (e.g. whenever I'm in Boston, I want to go to Bertucci's at least once if not twice :P).
Am back in LA for a few weeks, staying with Miyuki. Last night, we made a preliminary list of where we want to go eat, and that starts today!

Mmm, ramen ...
Kitty -- Yay food! So far, I've had really good food experiences in NY... When you visit, hopefully I'll have figured out even more. (And you'll have to take me to your favs too! *^o^*)
Pijus -- Indeed. This place (Shinsengumi) has the perfect set menu for me: ramen plus half an order of gyoza. I *heart* them to pieces! Dude, where are the good ramen places in NY??
Well, there's one on 2nd avenue and 10th street. Katherine complains that the broth is too potent and has too much MSG, but I think the stuff's great, a very close contended for the Porter Square joint in Cambridge.
Ah Shinsengumi ramen!!
We need to go out this weekend, and you'll get to ride in my new car!
Pijus -- Great! Glad to know I'll have ramen options. :P
Rabi -- Call me about this weekend. Looking forward to seeing your new car! *^o^* (My god, I'm trying to figure out how to sell my car and it's freaking me out. x_x)
Btw, Rabi -- yay Jiro icon! *^o^*
Mimi, I thought we had settled what you'd do with your car! Are you backtracking on me now!?
Pijus -- Where is my ten thousand dollahs + expenses?? No pyrotechnics till you've paid up!
Mimi, at most we may have discussed the rental of an "empty lot", while walking through Greenpoint. What else do you need? Use the remainders of the gasoline still in the car's tank, and set it on fire! :)
