That'll teach me to forget my T3. My phone is a phone, not a camera.
Also, that'll teach me to check the date on the ticket so I don't accidentally miss a show. Was incredibly lucky to buy another ticket at face value for the second night from a fan who can't make it, seat in the 6th row even.
I wrote something that was a mile long, but I'm scrapping it. I will say two things though:
1) I love jazz standards type songs, so Rufus in top form + some of my favourites = dream come true.
2) SAW VIKTOR & ROLF!! (Here's a pic of them.) I thought my heart would stop when I spotted them getting seated a few rows over. During intermission, they were holding court in a hallway, and I had to get through them to get to the foyer. And so (this is the dorkiest thing ever) I asked Viktor or Rolf to please "excuse me." Rolf, or was it Viktor, said, "oh sorry, I'm in your way." Why couldn't I have told them I thought they did beautiful work? But still, I guess everything *does* happen in Manhattan.

omgrufusrufusRUFUS!!!
Did he do "My Funny Valentine"? What else did he do? Is he as absolutely hilarious in real life as he is on CD? And, and-! I can't think of what else I want to ask, except *everything*.
::envies you and loves you at the same time::
Sorry dude, he did Judy Garland's set, as outlined here, so no Funny Valentine. Though he did add a few: San Francisco, Chicago, Over the Rainbow, Get Happy, Swanee and After You've Gone. Martha sang Stormy Weather, and then a bonus Someone to Watch Over Me during encore (one of my favs).
Rufus was glorious, intoxicating, beautiful, funny and he owned the stage. He is also the queeniest, gayest gay boy I've ever seen or heard. I'm very fond of him. :P (Have you ever listened to his track by track commentary for Want One and Want Two? It's on his website... you'll have to register though.)
V&R. T played at their fashion show a while ago.
Mims, you hipster you...so glad the rufus show went off without a hitch. i wish i was there with you, jie jie!
I know! Fall 2005 runway show, the one inspired by beds, sheets, satin, ruffles... and intimacy. I love what they'd put T in, it was this beautiful flowing silky satin red number... She sang to Song of Solomon. Tell you something dorky: was very glad that I'd dressed up a bit that evening, or would have had to dig a hole rather than walk past two of my favourite designers. :P
Next time, my sweet, next time we will go see Rufus together. We must.
He scored the goal! Very exciting. *^o^*
I've never seen Corey の彼氏,
so I don't know if he looks like V&R, but if you think he does, then he must be quite stylish. :P
And I like their CLOTHES!! Though they seem quite interesting too, and they like a musician that I like and had her play the piano and sing at one of their fashion shows. I hope one day I'll be able to afford to buy some of their clothes. Or they'll do a second line, like Alex McQuee just did...
