Kitty wants me to stop wearing my Tiffany bean necklace.
"But it's designed by Elsa Peretti--"
"You're not a crushed bean!"
I like my bean. I don't know how many years ago it was, but my Dad bought it for me on a family trip to the US. It's simple, elegant, and goes with everything.
But she has a point. Maybe it's time just to change things around a bit.
I'll give it a rest for now and take my other necklaces out for a spin.

I think you just wanted to post yet another autoportrait, Mimi. ;)
Pijus, I have literally LOADS of autoportraits. I can go probably for 2 weeks posting just that. Trying to space them out a bit rather unsuccessfully. :P
The bean! It's your signature in my mind! But like Carrie since you're in a new city maybe you need a new necklace!
A ha ha ha ha~ If I'm Carrie, then I should be holding on to my old necklace in a new city, right? :P Anyway, I do wear it a lot, so it's time to mix it up a bit. (You have the heart, don't you?)
The way I feel about jewelry is that energetically you know when it's time to take certain pieces off. Often they'll just fall off when you're done with them, too (or they're done with you). Often when I have huge transitions, I will have to find new jewelry to recognize that. Don't lose the bean until you're ready to lose the bean (but it sounds like you're ready).
I'm never gonna lose my bean, Adriana. I love it! But I am gonna stop defaulting to it every time I need a necklace. Need to get more of my accessories into circulation. :P
But speaking of jewelry, symbolism and energy, have you seen Millenium Actress (japanese animation)?? I want to wear a key around my neck based solely on that movie.
when you said you wanted to wear a key, i was thinking more of a lock.
ren's.
Did I ever tell you that last time I went to have my hair cut, the guy (japanese) who washed my hair wore a lock on a chain around his neck? I asked him if he read NANA and he said yes, but he said the style was also inspired by Sid Vicious. :P
oh my, didn't mean to cause a trouble for my Mimi.
as for beans, you know there are magic beans, hills of beans, baked beans & let's not forget refried...but i just was goofing on you. apparently it hit a chord. i am all for the tiffany lock, and yes, my thoughts went straight to sid v & not nana...
and you & carrie, she had to lose her necklace to find herself...oh there i go again...you know i adore you, girl.
wear whatever calls to you, beans included.
i just took off my new zealand hook, time for some new magic, so there you go, we all can use a change-up.
Sweets, it's no trouble at all! I have been defaulting to my bean a lot, and there are so many more things I could be wearing. And I suppose I think it's time for a change... and sometimes it takes wearing something different. :P (And to give my bean time to turn into a magic bean??) Didn't realize yours was a New Zealand hook -- it looked kind of Polynesian, but I didn't know. I like it!
And you think of Sid V because you haven't read NANA yet! That will have to be remedied... I've always wanted to introduce that series to you. I think there's an english translation out, but I don't know how many volumes they've done so far.
I hope I can find mi here soon, sent out a bunch of correspondances today, waiting for replies. (yeahyeah mercury retrograde and all, but I don't care!) Just feeling a bit lonely right now is all.
I adore you too! Miss you, always.
