(July, 2006. Upper East Side, New York.)That's what Marco Guerra said to me, we had a "coffee-and-chat, get-to-know-you" thing today, he's a friend of a friend. He didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, but reinforced many things that I did, and was a source of encouragement.
"Do you have any family in New York?"
"No."
"I'll be your family."
It was the kindest and most reassuring thing anybody has said to me here.
