How do you get a red glow off a yellow light?

Two things (that I can think of/know... there's probably more):

1)Our eyes register light differently than film does, esp. when it comes to yellow/tungsten light. E.g. if you shoot indoors at night without a flash, you'd recall seeing the scene as more balanced in color but when you get the film/prints/check the digital screen afterwards, you'd find it looks very red/yellow.

2)The light was more orangey than just straight yellow. But if you're looking at the light source itself, it'll look more yellowish. (If you lighten red/orange, it'll get to yellowish/orange. If you know what I mean.)
