24 hours

(February, 2007. Narita Airport Terminal 1, Japan.)

I was supposed to fly LAX-SFO-HKG, except the LAX-SFO flight was delayed and I'd miss the connection to HKG, so they routed me through NRT instead.

I've always liked NRT, it has good shops and you can get good food (soba this time), but this trip, between the waiting and layovers and flight time, I'd spent an extra 6 hours in airports and on planes, making for a grand total of about 24 hours spent getting to HKG.

A new record, I think.

What is a Pocari, and why are people paying to drink its sweat?

Pocaris are blue blobby, gelatine beings that are farmed for their thirst quenching perspiration. Their sweat contains minerals that make for a perfect grapefruity sports drink for humans.

... or were you asking for an actual explanation?

Bill -- Okay then. :P

Miyu -- I'm just reminded of the blue slimes in Dragon Quest. It's all Asako's fault, I haven't even played the game and I think they're cute. :P I'll probably have to look into flying with another airline, even though all my miles are on United. I'll clean out my mileage account and then look into maybe Continental, which has a New York-->Hong Kong direct flight. And yes! I realise that I left the Koyuki candy at your place... I hope you enjoy it! ^_^;
